U2 formally announce more Las Vegas Sphere shows

U2 commenced their 25-show residency at the new immersive venue, Sphere, in Las Vegas on September 29, where they performed their album “Achtung Baby” in its entirety. This special performance included rarely played deep cuts from the ’90s, combined with stunning visuals. Originally scheduled to conclude on December 16, the New York Post recently reported that U2’s stay at the venue would be extended while James Dolan and Sphere Entertainment search for the next artist to fill the stage.

Developing a new production, complete with visuals for the 16K-resolution screens, could be a substantial undertaking. U2 has now officially confirmed 11 additional dates in January and February, expanding their total to 26 shows. The new dates are set for January 26, 27, 31, and February 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 15, 17, and 18. Tickets for these shows will be available for purchase starting Wednesday, October 25 at 11 AM PT. U2.com subscribers can submit ticket requests for the new dates from Thursday, October 19 at 10 AM PT until Saturday, October 21 at 10 AM PT.

The New York Post had previously reported that Dolan was in discussions with the Eagles for a potential Sphere residency, but more recent sources indicated that the deal had not been finalized yet. Stay tuned for updates.
